I had a client with this exact same problem. The only thing that prevented that worthless Insyde Airplane driver from constantly reinstalling itself was to disable the Windows Update service.

That registry hack shown at howtogeek sure looked promising, and maybe it used to work, but it certainly isn't working now. Surely there must be a better way to deal with this, disabling Windows Update is obviously not a long term solution.

I can confirm that editing the Group Policy on a Windows 10 Pro System works, so perhaps it's worth an upgrade. I would also like to prevent Windows Updates using Group Policy.
